The Internet: A Blessing from Allah – Using It for Our Success

In Islam, every tool and resource provided to us is a Ni’ma (blessing) and an Amana (trust) from Allah (SWT). The internet and digital connectivity are among the greatest blessings of our time, collapsing distances and granting instant access to knowledge. To achieve true spiritual and communal victory, we must view our online presence not as a tool for passive distraction, but as a space where our intentions are aligned with the Pleasure of Allah, remembering His command: “And whatever good you do – Allah knows it” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:197).

Victory (Nasr) in the Islamic tradition begins within the individual through discipline, righteousness, and continuous self-improvement. Utilizing the online world effectively means channeling it toward beneficial knowledge. In this regard, our *Nashrul Islam Academy* will definitely serve as a vital platform for acquiring beneficial knowledge—helping students learn the Qur’an & its language, understand the Sunnah, and refine their character. By using digital tools for seeking sacred knowledge, we act upon the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “Whoever treads a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him the path to Paradise” (Sahih Muslim).

Furthermore, the digital sphere is a vast field for fulfilling the duty of Dawah (inviting to good) and Amr bil-Ma’ruf wa Nahy ‘anil-Munkar (Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil). Online channels allow us to represent the true beauty, mercy, and justice of Islam to millions across the globe. By sharing beneficial content and engaging in dignified discourse, we fulfill the Divine imperative: “Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best” (Surah An-Nahl, 16:125).

Ultimately, true victory on the internet requires resisting its pitfalls—such as backbiting, vanity, spreading unverified news, and wasting precious time. By exercising digital Taqwa (God-consciousness), we honor the solemn warning in the Qur’an: “Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned” (Surah Al-Isra, 17:36). When we guard our eyes and tongues online and actively produce content that pleases our Creator, we turn this modern blessing into a heavy weight of good deeds on our scale, securing success both in this life and the Hereafter.
